OUR SERVICES

IN VITRO FERTILISATION

What is heterologous in vitro fertilisation (IVF)?

IVF is an assisted reproduction technique used to treat infertility due to multiple causes, including tubal disease, male factor endometriosis and unexplained causes. California Fertility Partners offers IVF at its fertility centre in Los Angeles. IVF treatment involves stimulating the ovaries to produce more eggs, removing the eggs by aspiration using an ultrasound-guided needle, and then inseminating the eggs in the laboratory. The fertilised oocytes, or embryos, are cultured for 3 to 5 days before being transferred to the uterine cavity under ultrasound guidance.

EGG DONATION

The effects of age on a woman's eggs

IVF success rates are now higher than ever. One of the main factors influencing IVF pregnancy rates is egg quality, which in turn is strongly influenced by the age of the woman producing the eggs. The proportion of eggs with an abnormal number of chromosomes increases with age. The use of eggs donated by women in their twenties is a therapeutic option with a very high success rate due to the high quality of the eggs. Donor eggs are used to facilitate conception in women with a variety of reproductive problems, including premature ovarian failure, reduced ovarian reserve, poor egg quality from previous IVF cycles, or women with chromosomal translocations or genetic diseases that they wish to avoid passing on to their offspring. Donor eggs can also be used in conjunction with surrogacy to enable homosexual men to have their own biological children.

SURROGACY

Leaders in surrogacy

The doctors at California Fertility Partners have been helping patients have children through surrogacy for over thirty years. We see patients from all over the world coming to our centre for IVF with surrogacy, not only because of our extensive experience, but also because California is one of the safest places in the world for surrogacy.
